Reivers were raiders along the English–Scottish border from the late 13th century to the end of the 16th century. Their ranks consisted of both Scottish and English families, and they raided the entire border country without regard to their victims' nationality.
Join historian Phil Parks as he explores the origins and lifestyles of the Scots-Irish during this turbulent period of Anglo-Scottish history. Phil Parks discovered his Scots-Irish roots after taking an introductory genealogical class at the Iowa Genealogical Society and for the past decade has been researching the origins and lifestyles of the Scots-Irish. Phil has a B.A. and M.A. in history from Drake University and taught history in the Des Moines Public Schools. He has presented lectures for the Senior College and the Northwest Community Center.
