Lindy on the Rocks Swing Dance Festival

cmDance is proud to announce the 8th annual Lindy on the Rocks swing dance and music festival.

Lindy on the Rocks brings Lindy Hop instructors from across the globe to Denver to teach, dance, and inspire. Some of the best swing dancers and instructors in the world teach at least classes, with levels ranging from beginner through masters. Classes are available Friday afternoon, all day Saturday, and all day Sunday.

This year LotR features world famous instructors Patrick Szmidt and Natasha Ouimet, whose talent and reputation as dancers and teachers was noticed by Cirque du Soleil, who hired them to train artists of their show "Banana Shpeel" in the art of Swing aerials. The instructor line-up also includes world-renowned swing dancers: Thomas Blacharz, Peter Strom, Andy Reid, Nina Gilkenson, Naomi Uyama, Michael Faltesek, Delilah Williams, Mikey Pedroza, Laura Keat,Shauna Marble & Mark Godwin, and Conrad Friesen & Miranda Longaker.

Lindy on the Rocks Swing Festival kicks off Thursday, August 2 with a Sunset Swing Dance at Cheesman Park Pavilion 7-10 p.m. (12th & Race). This event is free and open to the public!

On Saturday, August 4 cmDance is thrilled to be hosting their annual fundraiser, Swing in the City, in The Studio Loft, at the Denver Performing Arts Complex. This special night is a fund-raiser and includes sensational performances by internationally acclaimed artists from around the world!

Doors open at 6:00pm with Tapas catered by Kevin Taylor’s at the Opera House. The Show begins at 7pm. After that you are encouraged to stay and dance to the swingin’ tunes of the Lindy on the Rocks All Star Band.

Silent auction items will be available.

This festival is expected to draw 400 of the best swing dancers from around the world and will feature focused workshops in swing, lindy hop, blues & aerial swing dancing over the weekend.

Lindy on the Rocks will also have social dances open to the public every night featuring The Lindy on the Rocks All Star Band.

CMDance is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization based in Denver, Colorado, USA dedicated to the arts.
