Lights Camera Action!
Independent Film and Animation Show

Cambridge, MA

Boston-based film show, Lights, Camera, Action! is the brainchild of Liz Robbins, an artist and photographer out of Quincy, MA. Mrs. Robbins founded the project in an effort to support and nurture Boston's small, yet vibrant, independent film community. This two-hour event showcases the wealth of filmmakers and animators in New England.

With the advent of inexpensive cameras and in home editing programs, a whole realm of opportunities is available for filmmakers to pursue their passion. What is not as available is a place to share their work. There are a limited number of outlets available to filmmakers to show their work to the public. Lights, Camera, Action! was created to give filmmakers the opportunity not only to show their work, but it is also an opportunity for the viewers to see what is being created in our own community.

"Film isn't just produced in Hollywood or New York. It's being made by the guy in the cubicle next to you, or the kid who bags your groceries." Robbins said, "Great art is being made by everyday people leading everyday lives. The next great film director could be sitting on the bus right next to us."

Lights, Camera, Action! is showing at the Kendall Square Cinema on July 16th at 7 pm. Tickets are $10 and can be at the purchased Kendall Square Cinema box office.
