Comic writings and improvisational jazz meld to create a symphony of smiles at Ochi’s Lounge on Wednesday, June 18th at Liam McEneaney’s “Writings with Music.”

Every musician secretly wants to be a comedian. All comedians have a secret yearning to play music. These worlds collide in a music/comedy experiment, as some of New York's best comedy writers read pieces, creating a rhythm that a jazz band will use to create a live, improvised musical background.

Armed with prepared material, Joe Garden, Megan Ganz and Todd Hanson (all writers from The Onion) take the stage hosted by Liam McEneaney (Best Week Ever, Comedy Central) with live accompaniment from Evan Silverman's Jazzhole. Silverman has toured support of such acts as Echo & the Bunnymen and Bob Dylan.

The music and monologues swirl together to create a once in a lifetime performance.
