A Tribute to Louis Malle
This seven-film series celebrates the work of filmmaker Louis Malle, who earned fame and acclaim both in his native France and in the U.S., his adopted home. Malle helped shape the cinematic innovations of the French New Wave in the 1950s and 1960s with such groundbreaking films as Les Amants, then brought his fresh sensibility and eclectic interests to Hollywood. Candice Bergen, married to Malle from 1981 to his death, joins us for the screening of his autobiographical Au revoir les enfants.
