One of the true stars of twenty-first century Brazilian popular music, singer, composer, musician, producer Lenine makes music rooted equally in the infectious, West African–derived maractu rhythms of northeastern Brazil and his brilliantly syncopated guitar playing. On top of this, he effortlessly layers “funk vamps, shadowy electronics, slide guitar, Afro-Cuban drumming, rock and (his) own compassionate voice” (,The New York Times). His sophisticated songs are covered by everyone from Gilberto Gil to Daniela Mercury, but there’s nothing like seeing this multiple Latin Grammy-winner and his band perform his own work live on his first U.S. tour.

Members, seniors, students $20; nonmembers, general admission $25.
