The Light Resource Lectures on Architecture + Design exposes the general public and the local design community to architects and design professionals from around the globe. Light Resource is proud to be in their 5th year of sponsorship.

The series has gathered a distinguished line-up of 7 international speakers for 2006-2007, including Bjarke Ingels (Copenhagen), Ted Cullinan (London), Xaveer De Geyter (Brussels), Eyal Weizman (London), Bridget Baines (Edinburgh), Katsuhiro Yamazaki (Montreal), and Margie Ruddick (Philadelphia).

All lectures are held at UBC Robson Square, C300 Theatre, at 6pm prompt. Admission is free; seating is first come, first served.

About Ted Cullinan:

"Cullinan was educated at Cambridge University, the Architectural Association and UC Berkeley before working for Denys Lasdun where he designed the student residences for the University of East Anglia. Cullinan's practise, Edward Cullinan Architects, was founded in 1959. Notable projects include the Fountains Abbey Visitor Centre (completed 1992), the Cambridge University Centre for Mathematical Sciences (completed 2000), and the Weald and Downland Museum (2002). Ted Cullinan is currently a visiting Professor at the University of Nottingham, and has been awarded four other professorships at The Bartlett (1978-9), Sheffield University (1985-87), MIT (1985) and Edinburgh University (1987-90)."
