June 21, 2006 - Your Image, Your Brand
In Business, your wardrobe is an extension of your business card. Dressing well reinforces who you are, what you stand for, and it opens doors.

First impressions can be the key to success or failure with new clients and prospective partners, in both business and in social situations.

We've all been taught not to judge a book by its cover, and yet, research shows that opinions are formed within seven seconds of meeting a new person. Most of that (up to 93%) is based on non-verbal cues: your clothing, your hair, and how healthy/energetic you seem, all come together in the other person's mind as either a favourable or unfavourable image.

Marilyn Wetston, The Wardrobe Doctor, will be showing us:

* how to determine what image you project in business situations
* how to dress well to create your own personal statement, and
* how to present and market yourself.

This is a fun and informative session designed to help you assess the message that you are sending - maybe unintentionally - about you, and your business.

Plan to meet people, to laugh, and to stay late.

Networking and cocktails 6:30pm; Presentation at 8:00pm

About Marilyn Wetston
********************
Marilyn Wetston is a media personality and a business owner. You may well recognize Marilyn as "the Wardrobe Doctor" since she has a weekly spot on television, a weekly radio programme that reaches most of Southern & Central Ontario (and into the U.S.), plus she writes regular columns for Osprey Media newspapers across the province, and much more. On top of this, she is widely known for her store, Marilyn's, a landmark in Toronto's Fashion District for over thirty years.

A sought-after speaker and presenter, Marilyn believes that clothing is just another mode of communication and that there is an art to dressing. She helps both men and women learn how to make the statements they want to make by teaching the "vocabulary" of clothing.
