When it comes to family, The San Diego Marriott La Jolla's Executive Chef Matt Porter knows what adults and kids love and is creating a memorable Mother's day Menu inspired by his own family tradition from when he was a young boy. Now, Chef Matt is all grown up.

The sumptuous Mother's Day buffet with more than a dozen delectable entrees and half a dozen mouth-watering deserts was adapted by Chef Porter's own family recipes. The menu will entice families to celebrate this special family-oriented day at the hotel with a lavish Mother's Day Menu.

The exquisitely prepared meal for Mom spotlights Herb crusted pork loin with blackberry glaze; Salmon Wellington with truffle and mushroom Bordelaise; Spring vegetable medley; Sweet potato gratin with bleu cheese and Asiago; Porcini scented potato puree; field greens, oranges, fennel and pecans tossed in a champagne vinaigrette; and tomato, baby mozzarella, pesto and haricot vert salad. The meal includes a glass of champagne and your choice of a non-alcoholic beverage.

The memorable day will be topped with the Chef's homemade selection of delectable desserts, including a Spring fresh fruit display; White chocolate mousse; caramelized peaches, bourbon, caramel and pound cake croutons; a Spring berry tart; Raspberry strudel; and chocolate espresso coffee cake.

As part of the festivities, guests have a chance to enter a Mother's Day drawing and win a "family style" dinner for eight in the restaurant's private dining room served and featuring the Chef's favorite childhood recipes, which the entire family can enjoy. Three lucky families will receive the special dinner, valued at $250.
