Latin American Folk Music Trio “Chaski” in Concert January 30, 2009

Del Mar College’s Department of Music presents the trio Chaski, who perform and record Latin American folk music that features traditional instruments, colorful costumes, cultural insight, Andean dances and audience participation. Based in Austin, Texas, Chaski has toured the United States, Europe and Central and South America enthralling audiences since 1985. Chaski is featured on the soundtrack of the 2006 IMAX film, Ride Around the World: A Cowboy Adventure. The trio’s five CDs feature selections from their music repertoire from Latin American and Spain, including the sounds of flute, panpipes, quena, harp, accordion, cuatro, guitar, charango, bombo, maracas and other instruments.
