Lark Rise Band February 8, 2009

Lark Rise to Candleford is a classic book by Flora Thompson which has inspired two remarkably successful plays, a music album, a TV series and now a new band led by Ashley Hutchings: The Lark Rise Band.

When the National Theatre decided to put on a play of Lark Rise, Ashley Hutchings was appointed Music Director and his Albion Band provided the music. Joining him in the band is a new generation of singers and musicians. This concert performance features music, spoken word, dance and song from the book and the plays, celebrating a lost way of life so memorably captured by Flora Thompson.
