Land of Amber Waters: The History of Brewing in Minnesota December 6, 2007

Author Doug Hoverson will give a free, illustrated presentation on the history of beer brewing in Minnesota based on the research for his new book "Land of Amber Waters: The History of Brewing in Minnesota." Hoverson will explore the love affair between Minnesota and beer, from the first illegal brewer at Fort Snelling, to the first commercial brewery in 1849, to the craft brewers and major companies of today. Audience members can enjoy local brews at a cash bar provided by D'Amico Catering before and after the program, and books will be available for purchase and signing by the author. This event is co-sponsored by the University of Minnesota Press and D'Amico Catering.
