The elegant tenor Joseph Calleja makes his LA Opera debut as the young lover, Alfredo, who takes Violetta away into a dream of happiness that cannot last. In one of his signature roles, Dwayne Croft returns as the father whose devotion leads to one of the most heartbreaking confrontations in all opera.

In the face of certain death, a beautiful Parisian courtesan devotes herself to decadent pleasures. But at a young man's declaration of true love, Violetta realizes the emptiness of her frivolous existence, giving up everything to pursue a romantic reverie that leads to tragic consequences.
