Let's get ready to ruuuuumble! The baking gloves are coming off as 13 of the best cupcake bakeries are squaring off and allowing you to pick the winner. Each vendor will display their best mini-cupcakes for you to taste and judge and finally put to rest whom has the best cupcakes in Los Angeles.

The event will take place on Sunday, May 18th, from 1pm to 4pm at the Montmartre Lounge (6757 Hollywood Blvd). Competitors will include Yummy Cupcakes, Vanilla Bake Shop, Milk, Famous Cupcakes, Hotcakes, Lucky Devils, The Oinkster, Violet's Cakes, Babycakes, My Little Cupcake, Lark, Essential Chocolate Desserts, and Mrs. Beasley's.

Sponsored by CozmoDeck, Fiji Water, and K and L Wine Merchants, the event will feature LA’s best cupcakes, as well as a dozen varietals of wine, with a percentage of proceeds supporting the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation. The event is part of a summer series of events produced by Drink:Eat:Play which will also include “Dessert Decadence”, “Gourmet Five Year Old Party”, “Around the World in 80 Sips” and the “LA BBQ Festival”.

So fun. Vanilla, Lucky Devil, Famous and Leyna's were the best.

Sugar heaven! Liked the little marshmellows ones but loved the strawberry hearts cupcakes. Too bad I did not catch their name.

The event was a lot of fun except that I think the ballots should have been more organized and maybe a list of all the cupcake shops and their flavors. There were so many different varieties it was hard to tell who was who in the end. My favorite was the red velvet from Famous cupcakes, it was moist and perfect.

I loved the strawberry ones from Leynas Kitchen!! Hands down stole the show with their strawberry tree and all. The strawberry aroma definately drew me back for seconds... the 2nd red velvet one i tasted was was rich too!! Cant remember the baker...What a great event I only wish they had water or milk for us to drink!
