Saskatchewan native Kyle Riabko, who made his New York performance debut under the auspices of the Canadian Consulate`s Upper North Side Canadian Music Series at Joe`s Pub, will light up Broadway this spring in the pivotal role of Melchior in the 2006 Tony Award-winning Best Musical, Spring Awakening. He will be replacing Jonathan Groff, who has signed on to play Claude this summer in the Public Theater`s production of Hair at the Delacorte Theater in Central Park. Riabko, 20, whose blistering blues guitar attack, soulful vocals, sly charisma, and precocious songwriting have established him as a rising star in the music world, will be making his Broadway debut. The curtain goes up on his new career May 23rd.
