Dr.Kunnakudi's RAGA RESEARCH CENTRE along with Kunnakudi Sangeetha Gurukulam conducted their KUNNAKUDI ISAI VIZHA in grandeour from 18th Dec 2008 to 24th Dec 2008 here at RRC, 50, greenways road, R.A.Puram, Chennai 28. Ph: 044-24612587/86.
With eminent celebrities on the Inauguration day viz., Dr.Nalli Kuppuswamy Chettiar, Actor Sivakumar, Ela Ganesan, VGSanthosham and DD A.Natarajan while Kunnakudi son Architect. K.V.Sreenivasan spoke on welcome address. Ar.K.V.Sreenivasan (9444069282) and his family have organised this mega event for the seven long days till 24th Dec 2008.
Eminent Musicians like Padmashree M.S.Anantharaman, Rajesh vaidya, Nagai Mukundan, Maharajapuram Srinivasan, O.S.Arun and Kanyakumari rendered their best programmes along with Ms.Subbalakshmi Natesan, (sister of Kunnakudi vaidyanathan)on vocal and students of Kunnakudi sangeetha gurukulam participated. Master .Kunnakudi Gautam (son of K.V.Sreenivasan) given concert on violin during this music festival.
To have variety, they have performed even the bhajans of Radha kalyanam performed by Kunnakudi Viswanatha Bagavathar (cousins son of Kunnakudi vaidyanathan) and Pinju rathanagalin PANCHARATNAM (students of Ms.sulochana patabiraman).
K.V.Sreenivasan informed that " His fathers dream coming true .....by organising these programmes motivating more musicians and music lovers. He also informed that RRC will continue to do the research on Ragas and organise Lecture demonstrations, workshops by all vedic scholars, doctors, jodhishs and botonists who perform their researches on particular ragas and all these will be published for the public through their RAGAALAYAM newsletter started by Dr.Kunnakudi vaidyanathan will be released every quarter. During the inagurations day Dr.Nalli kuppuswamy chettiar released the newsletter while the first copy received by Actor Sivakumar. Shri. Ramki V.Ramakrishna, secretary of RRC given vote of thanks for the inagurations.
