KRS-One Lawrence Parker's alter ego is one of the more well-known hip hop MCs; he grew up in the South Bronx and has been known by many handles (Kris Parker, Blastmaster, The Teacha). As KRS-One, he's been a significant figure in hip hop and redefining what an MC can be. He's been called one of the greatest rappers to ever shock the mic.
