Detroit Puppet Theater presents 'Kolobok,' a Russian folktale about the adventures of a little butterball named Kolobok, who was baked by an elderly childless couple. This story is well known in America as 'The Gingerbread Man.' In this production, the adventures of Kolobok are seen through the eyes of two forest creatures, performed by live actors who bring to life the floor puppets--animals in traditional Russian costumes. The bright, sunny, cheerful colors of the scenery and costumes help create the atmosphere of the magical forest.
