Commandos will don full battle gear and perform a drill at the Fort William Stadium during the 'Know Your Army' exhibition on January 10 and 11. The exhibition will also feature arms and equipment used by the army.

KNOW YOUR ARMY EXHIBITION
The “Know Your Army Exhibition” will be held under arrangement of HQ Bengal Area on 10 and 11 Jan 2009 at Fort William. This event has become part of the annual feature for the young and old of Kolkata to see, experience and understand the Indian Army. Entrance to the exhibition is free for the general public. As was seen in the preceding years, the exhibition is a must see for youngsters and school and college students.
The venue is Fort William Driving Range opposite Fort William Stadium. The exhibition will be open to the spectators from 1000 hrs to 1600 hrs on 10 Jan to 11 Jan 2009. Entry for the exhibition will be through HRBC Gate under Vidyasagar Setu Bridge on Strand Road near George Gate.Spectators are to park their vehicles in area between the outer and inner gates of HRBC.
The some of the items and equipments that will be on display in the exhibition are Mech Mine Layer, NBC Eqpt, Drill Mines, AN 19/2 Mine Detectors, Recce Boat 3 Men Mk-IIA, Motor Grader, Explosive Detector, Bomb Suit, Telescopic Manipulator (TM-500) Bomb Blanket, Air Defence Gun L-70, Air Defence Radar, 120mm Motor with drill ammunition, one T-72 Tank, One Armed Recovery Vehicle, One BMP, 105mm Field Gun, 155 mm Bofors Gun and Scania, 5.56mm INSAS Rifle, LMG, 7.62mm MMG, 30mmAutomatic Grenade Launcher, 84mm Recoilless Launcher, 81mm Mortar, Sniper Rifle, Anti Tank Guided Missile , Battle Field Surveillance Radar , Helicopter (static). A Ghatak Platoon in action in battle gear will also be showcased. Among the other attractions will be Army bands, Horses of RVC and Dog Squad.
