Knock and Rock November 4, 2006

Join us in Stamford for an exciting special event - a Knock and Rock for Ned Lamont! First, the knock: We'll be hitting the streets of Stamford to go door-to-door for Ned Lamont and the entire Democratic ticket during our final Saturday before election day. Then, the Rock: Bring your completed walk-list as your free ticket to a party and live rock concert with Black 47!!!

If this is your first time canvassing - don't worry! You'll be paired up with a partner (or bring friends!) and we'll provide you with training, detailed maps, and a walk list. And when you're finished, you'll get to celebrate with great music and like-minded progressives!

The music of Black 47 fuses traditional Irish, reggae, hip-hop, rock, folk, New Orleans trad & modern jazz in a New York City gumbo. Their lyrics, often political, speak of life and love in immigrant and working class communities. Black 47 has been an outspoken leader in opposition to the War in Iraq. Black 47's lead singer, Larry Kirwan, will join us in supporting Ned Lamont by knocking on doors in Stamford before the concert!

Canvassing teams will hit the street at 10:00AM and 11:30 AM. Black 47 will kick off our private party at 3:00 PM. You'll find out the concert location when you finish the canvass! Shuttle from Metro North will be provided!
