“Kirkland’s Taste of the Town”, an event presented by the Kirkland Business Association that benefited Evergreen Hospice Bereavement Counseling for Children was held on Friday Sept. 28th at the wonderful Courtyard Marriott Hotel at 11215 NE 124th Street, Kirkland WA 98034

This cocktail attire public event went from 6:00 PM – 11:00 PM while Thirteen of Kirkland’s favorite restaurants feverishly competed for the five coveted awards as the “Best of Kirkland”. Attendees will judge a sample from each of the restaurants’ entries, then vote on the Best Appetizer, Best Main Course, Best Desert, Best Presentation and the final award “The Ultimate Taste of the Town”.

With an advanced ticket price of only 55.00 – 65.00, this event drew in a great attendance!

All that attended experienced an evening filled with delicious restaurant offerings from Blue Fish, Courtyard Restaurant at Marriott, Hector’s, Lynn’s Bistro, Mixtura, Noppakoa, Olive Garden, Purple Café, Shamiana, Thai Kitchen, Thin Pan Siam Bistro, Wilde rover & Zeek’s. Absolut Level Vodka Martini Cocktails were sampled as well as coffee liquors by Starbucks.

Guests danced the night away to live music & entertainment by the Alma Villegas Quartet, the Mycle Wastman Band and Gaylan Suave of GSC Sound and Music while hosted by local /national celebrity, Grant Goodeve and special guest, Emmy Award winning singer/songwriter, Tim Noah while also having a chance to receive some spectacular shopping at the live & silent auctions.

Awards Section:
Shamiana’s won Best Main Course, The Wilde Rover won Best Dessert, Best Presentation went to Noppakoa, Lynn’s Bistro won Best Appetizer as well as the final award “The Ultimate Taste of the Town”.

All this and then the unexpected star appearances made by The “Extreme Makeovers Home Edition” team. Johnny Littlefield, Michael Maloney and Paul DiMeo topped off the evening!

The first annual “Kirkland’s Taste of the Town” was an event that created many exciting fun filled memories! For all that attended and all that couldn’t in 2007, this will definitely be a “must do” for 2008!
