"Forming in 2001, Kid Confucius is a band with a melting pot full of sounds and influences. The band's members first came together over a mutual love for funk and soul music of the '60s and '70s, as well as hip hop. Their sound is an eclectic mix that is drawn from many eras, including the lyrical sting of Kanye West, Stevie Wonder's essence of funk and the swing of Rod Stewart during his work in The Faces.

With two albums now under their belts, plus the recent EP Closer, Kid Confucius has a sizeable collection of songs to draw on for their latest tour. Entitled the Street Corner Soul tour, the concept is to take soul music into venues normally dominated by rock music.

Recently, Kid Confucius was presented with the Best R&B Group Award at the 2007 Urban Music Awards. They are building a strong reputation as one of this country's most unique and formidable live outfits. Catch them in their natural habitat as they perform around Australia."
