I don't think the question of if sample=free is as relevant as knowing if this event is going to held in Brooklyn or in the Bluegrass. As, after checking LeNell's URL you will find:
" KENTUCKY BOURBON SAMPLER Saturday, April 29, 2006 Join me in Bardstown for some very special distillery tours!"
Bardstown, as in Louisville, KY, and this event leads up to the Ky Bourbon Festival to be held in September. LeNell's URL makes no mention of any local tasting, free or otherwise.
Oh, for the event in KY, "sample" does not mean "free". Tix $30. 8>)
