Just Love - New York City October 25, 2008

Just Love is an opportunity for college students to get out of their comfort zones and put into practice Christ's Great Commandment to love their neighbor as themselves. In inner-city areas throughout the U.S. and Canada, Just Love trips allow students to spend their weekends serving the poor and homeless of the city while reflecting on what it means to live our entire lives in service to the "least of these" (Mt. 25:40). The weekend is spent serving at various ministry sites such as soup kitchens and rescue missions as well as in interactive activities designed to let students get to know some of the homeless and working poor people of the city. The weekend is also interspersed with discussions to encourage reflection on our communal vocation as Orthodox Christians in relation to the poor.
