Join artist, author, and educator Judy Chicago for a vividly illustrated talk on her sumptuous new book (co-authored by British art historian Frances Borzello), Frida Kahlo: Face to Face. In this deeply personal reconsideration of the Mexican painter—one of the world’s most revered female artists, whom Chicago helped to introduce to American audiences in the early 1970s—Chicago examines Kahlo’s career from the point of view of the work rather than her biography, which, Chicago argues, often overshadows Kahlo’s many accomplishments. A book signing follows the program.
