Jorge Drexler's "Al Otro Lado del Rio" for the film The Motorcycle Diaries was the first song in Spanish to be nominated for an Academy Award. It won, making Drexler a hero in his native Uruguay. His music is a combination of Uruguayan traditional music, including the candombe and milonga, bossa nova, pop and jazz, a combination enhanced by Drexler’s personal compositions and original arrangements.

Originally from Peru, Tania Libertad is one of the most significant Latin American artists performing today.
