Guaranteed top-notch music every Wednesday at this venue. If you value audio, there is no better sound-man in Sacramento than Lare CroTley. That's why so many talented pros & amateurs frequent this club. there's a full service bar-space to party, and a room for audiophiles. That's where you'll find me, Jazz, Blues, R&B, Classical,Spoken Word, Folk, Latin, and the quirky stylings of voices, many instruments EXCEPT full drums. Now what makes us do it do it? Sing heartfelt or silly-ass songs for strangers for No pay? I can't say. Masochism, passion, madness, all elements are involved. Many follow there muse into rack&ruin. I used to expect to make a living, now it is is my life, a soloist by default. But we sit in with each other, and we sometimes find those few moments of joy, when the magic happens, that rush of rhythm, rhyme, harmony, and phrasing that is agonizingly right, that sweet surprise when it;s all worth it. It happens at Ironsides more often than most because of the clarity and the talent. Full-tilt boogie is fun for sure, but this is more varied, even the flaws are fun, because precision is not exciting in itself. I don't want to impress you, I want to include you in my strange world. So, pints of good draft brew is 2$, admission is free, and whether that translates as worthless or priceless is up to you. It's your call, but you'll miss out if you don't pay attention. JM
