'The Shape, the Scent, the Feel of Things' incorporates a five-channel video projection with sound, drawings, photography, and found objects. The work reflects seminal video and performance artist Joan Jonas's interest in the persistence of past experience and her abiding concerns through the terrain of the American Southwest. The exhibit is also a response to German art historian Aby Warburg's essay about his visit to the American Southwest at the end of the nineteenth century.
