Jessie is an odd mix of fearless, compassionate, and artistic. Her photos are visually compelling but also indicate a deliberate kindness and consistent affording of dignity to her sitters. She'll shoot anywhere and her disarming demeanor draws in people who would otherwise be put off by the prospect of being photographed. And she's down with composition, yo.

We met in my old 12th and Chicon hood when I was painting crack hos and she was shooting photos of them and of the other local entrepreneurs on that corner.
