"Rachiim Ausar-Sahu is a highly respected bassist, composer, lyricistand educator. The Brooklyn born and raised native has toured most of the world over the last twenty-five years. He has lectured worldwide most notably in Germany, Portugal, Spain and the Netherlands as well as Guadeloupe and Martinique. A consummate professional in both the lecture hall and performance hall, Rachiim credits the tremendous resources of cosmopolitan New York; the libraries, museums, concert halls, clubs, parks and community-based programs of the 1950's, 1960's and 1970's, as vital keys to his early growth and development."

"Rachiim is the author of over four hundred compositions, the recipient of several "Meet The Composer" Awards and former Artist-in-Residence for New York State and North Carolina. Rachiim has held world premieres at the Apollo Theater, the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture, the Brooklyn Museum, the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music, the Conservatorio de Musica in Aveiro, Portugal , the Teatro Cameleon in Amsterdam, Holland and the North Sea Jazz Festival in Den Haag, Holland."
"Rachiim is formerly Professor of Jazz Studies and Jazz Performance at the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music, and is currently Musical Director for the Pangea Theater Company in New York City and Professor of Jazz Composition and Performance at the Instuto de Artes Contemporaneas in Porto, Portugal."
