Jazz Nation featuring Kenny Washington, Redwood High School Jazz Quartet January 21, 2010

Onstage at the Lark" presents “Jazz Nation” with legendary jazz vocalist Kenny Washington and his quartet for an evening of exceptional jazz Thursday January 21st at 8:00pm. If you have never heard this New Orleans native sing before, get ready for a jaw dropping experience. Kenny is a jazz vocalist virtuoso. His free playful approach, with over a four-octave range, is awe-inspiring, his tone is liquid, his scat is rapid-fire, passionate, melodious and inventive.

Each "Onstage at the Lark" production acts as a companion to the National Theatre¹s live direct simulcasts of plays from London to the Lark. This show is a companion for “Nation”, the third play in the series based on the best selling novel by Terry Pratchett that will be broadcast January 30th, 2010 and February 4th, 2010 at the Lark.

The live jazz concert will realize the "coming of age" theme from "Nation" with it¹s opening act, the Redwood High School jazz ensemble, "We haz Jazz".
