"Rhythm provides more than a heartbeat for the pianist Jason Lindner, what matters to him is groove, however it comes." —New York Times

A tuned-in BBC reporter recently dubbed jazz pianist Jason Lindner "the sound of young New York" and "one of the U.S.’s brightest jazz hopes" for his brilliant supporting roles in bands fronted by Dafnis Prieto and Claudia Acuña and his stand-out work as a leader of his ensembles. Now he’s put together a trio with Omer Avital on bass and oud and percussionist Luisito Quintero (last heard here with Jack DeJohnette) on congas, bongos, frame drum, maracas, and more. Listen to his new album, Ab Aeterno, and hear how slippery rhythms rub against chiming chords and melodies in a rich interplay that blurs the edges between jazz, world music, and chamber music.
