The Japan Center Malls invites youᅠand your familyᅠto join in a FREE Hawaiian celebration featuring arts & crafts for the kids.ᅠ Experience Hawaiian music and hula from the different eras of Waikiki, by the Hula Halau Ke 'Olu Makani 'O Mauna Loa Hula School and a free screening of the classic film Blue Hawaii featuring Elvis Presley.

2-4 PM: Ohana Fun
Free youth activities including hula lessons, ti leaf bracelet making, origami and more!

4-6PM: Tour of Polynesia Concert
Featuring entertainment from the Polynesian Islands

6-8 PM: Waikiki Through the Years Concert
Featuring Kumu Hula Meleana Manuel and Hula Halau Ke'Olu Makani'O Mauna Loa
Hula Halau Ke 'Olu Makani 'O Mauna Loa will take you on journey through the ages of Waikiki. Experience Hawaiian music and hula from the different eras of Waikiki, from Kahiko (ancient times) to 'Auana (modern hula). The school's Kumu Hula (Hula Master) Meleana Manuel, was a student of the famed Kumu Hula George Naope, and opened the halau (school) in 1990 in order to perpetuate the Hawaiian culture and carry on the lineage of her hula tree. Our mission is to enlighten, encourage and educate all that seek knowledge through hula.

8 PM: Free Screening: Blue Hawaii
The one and only, Elvis Presley stars in this classic 1961 film about an ex-Army soldier, who finds happiness in Hawaii with his surf-board, his beach buddies and his girlfriend. BLUE HAWAII, the first of three successful Hawaiian themed Elvis films is a fun, musical journey and features some of his most beloved songs such as "I Can't Help Falling in Love" and "Rock-A-Hula Baby". Bring a beach blanket and enjoy this delightful and family friendly screening!

This event is sponsored by the Japan Center Mall and hosted in collaboration with Aloha Warehouse, the Center for Asian American Media and Ke 'Olu Makani 'O Mauna Loa.
