In the 1990s, they co-founded what was possibly the first weekly alt-comedy show in New York City, called Eating It. Now, almost 20 years later, Janeane Garofalo and Marc Maron will split the bill and headline four shows at Comix.

Janeane Garofalo, one of the most respected female comics, is also an established actress. She has a recurring role on the show 24, received rave reviews for her role on NBC’s The West Wing, and received an Emmy nomination as well as two Cable Ace nominations for her role as “Paula”, the acertbic talent booker, on The Larry Sanders Show. She has had too many memorable film roles to name, in movies like Reality Bites and The Cable Guy, and she co-hosted of The Majority Report on Air America.

For over ten years, Marc Maron has been writing and performing raw, honest and thought-provoking comedy for print, stage, radio and television. A legend in the stand-up community, he has appeared on HBO, Late Night with Conan O’Brien, The Late Show with David Letterman, and two Comedy Central Presents specials. Most recently, his podcast “WTF with Marc Maron” skyrocketed to #1 on the iTunes comedy charts. He has also had two wildly successful one man shows, “The Jerusalem Syndrome: My Life as a Reluctant Messiah” and ‘Scorching the Earth”.

As an added bonus, Thursday night’s show will be taken over by Marc’s WTF Podcast, and Marc will be interviewing both Janeane Garofalo and Greg Giraldo live from our stage!
