"Jan Ken Pon" is the Japanese version of the game Rock Paper Scissors.

A family event where children can play with Japanese heritage games and toys. The Japanese Canadian National Museum presents the second annual Jan Ken Pon! Family Games Day. Run around and burn off some energy, or learn about and play with traditional Japanese heritage games and toys. Join us and try your hand at old-fashioned relay races, play with paper balloons and a Japanese style cup & ball game of skill, or make your own sumo wrestlers and beanbags. The highlight of the day is a rock-paper-scissors tournament with prizes. Old Japanese heritage toys will also be on display. New activities related to the Asahi baseball exhibit will be introduced this year.

This event is suitable for families with children aged 4 to 12. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Pre-registration admission fee before February 4 is $4 per child. Same-day admission $5. Accompanying adults free. A Japanese picnic lunch can be pre-ordered for $5. Family discount of $4 applies for families with four or more children.
