Grammy Nominated Blues Legend James Montgomery plays harmonica with authority, his band started in Boston 1970. While growing up in Detroit he learned first-hand from the masters James Cotton, John Lee Hooker, and Jr. Wells at the legendary "Chessmate." He has recorded with Kid Rock, Johnny Winter, and members of Aerosmith. James has performed on stage with a very long list of Blues and Rock greats including B.B.King, Muddy Waters, Buddy Guy, John Lee Hooker, Jr. Wells, James Cotton, Bonnie Raitt, Johnny Winter Band, The Blues Brothers (Jim Belushi, Dan Akroyd), Steven Tyler, Bruce Springsteen, Charlie Daniels, Steve Miller Band, J. Geils Band, Huey Lewis, Rick Derringer, Billy Squire, and the list goes on and on... including an impromptu session with Mick Jagger at New York's "Trax" where James gave Mick a few pointers on harmonica. Over the years, he's carried on the tradition and is one of the most dynamic performers on the music scene today.

James Montgomery has been Ranked Number 1 on the ReverbNation Blues Charts for 21 MONTHS STRAIGHT without dropping even one position (Since January 16, 2011).
