- JAMES CHANCE & THE J.C.’s. (11pm - JC plays James Brown and Contortions compositions backed by a classic subcultural music supergroup of Ivan Julian, Robert Aaron, Kim Clark, and Richard Dworkin)
- JAMES CHANCE solo (2am)
- JAIL BAIT (10pm) featuring members of A.R.E. Weapons, Voluptuous Horror of Karen Black, etc)

Contortions/James White and the Blacks leader JAMES CHANCE, one of the most exciting figures in contemporary music and performance and the Adam of No Wave music, and Soul Clap and Dance-Off DJ JONATHAN TOUBIN, North America’s most popular soul party DJ, have joined together to bring you an evening dedicated to one of the most prolific, innovative, and electric musicians of all time, MR. JAMES BROWN. The live music program begins with a set from JAIL BAIT – a wild downtown collaboration between Voluptuous Horror of Karen Black’s Jen “JR” Reynolds and A.R.E. Weapons Matt and Brain and fine artiste KP Lawless. They will be immediately followed JAMES CHANCE & THE J.C.’s - James Chance performing mostly James Brown compositions (plus a few Contortions classics) backed by a downtown supergroup of IVAN JULIAN [Richard Hell and the Voidoids], ROBERT AARON [avant-jazz legend who also played with everyone from B-52s and Blondie to Afrika Bambataa and Wu Tang Clan], KIM CLARK [Defunkt and dozens of jazz projects], and RICHARD DWARKIN [drum maestro of James White and the Blacks, Alex Chilton, and dozens more]!

After midnight Jonathan and James shake the dancefloor for hours with original vinyl recorded, produced, written, covered by, or otherwise related to James Brown. In the middle of the night Chance will do a short live solo saxophone set over both his own backing tracks and J.B.’s instrumentals. Expect not only J.B. but also Yvonne Faire, Vicki Anderson, Marva Whitney, Lynn Collins, Bobby Byrd, King Coleman, and more! Plus plenty of sweat!
