Jae Sinnett, Hampton Road's jazz ambassador, returns to the Williamsburg Library Theatre with his trio for a concert of straight-ahead jazz on Saturday, February 10 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets for the concert are $14 for adults, $12 for students with ID and $7 for those under 16, and can be reserved with a credit card by calling (757) 259-4070. The Williamsburg Library Theatre is located at 515 Scotland Street. This is another in the library's Dewey Decibel Concert Series.

The Jae Sinnett Trio is made up of New York pianist Allen Farnham, bassist Terry Burrell, and Jae on drums. Since the trio formed in 1995 they have performed at The Ella Fitzgerald Festival in Newport News, the Texas Jazz Festival, the Tucson Jazz Festival and many universities and jazz clubs throughout the U.S. Their recordings have achieved the ranking of top jazz albums in airplay on U.S. radio stations.

Drummer Jae Sinnett, who has recorded eight albums and two instructional videos, leads the trio. For nearly 20 years he has worked as jazz producer/host for National Public Radio affiliate, WHRV-FM in Norfolk. As a jazz educator, he taught jazz history, theory and percussion and directed the jazz big band and jazz combos at the Governor's School for the Arts in Norfolk. Jae was also adjunct percussion instructor at Christopher Newport University. He attended Norfolk State and Old Dominion Universities as a music education major.

Pianist Allen Farnham, a Concord recording artist and producer, is a graduate of Oberlin Conservatory of Music in Ohio. Allen is a favorite of jazz vocalists. He has performed with Mel Torme, Susannah McCorkle, John Fedchock and many more jazz musicians, and is a gifted arranger and composer.

Bassist Terry Burrell spent two years with Steve Coleman and the Five Elements and has also performed with Chuck Mangione, Hilton Ruiz and more. A versatile performer, Terry can play many jazz styles on both electric and acoustic bass. He attended Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond.
