Jackson Gillman and Clair Beetlestone The Romance of Africa August 30, 2008

Claire Beetlestone -- storyteller, world traveler, mother of five, physician, and zoo docent will share some favorite stories from her world travels and her life. She has triaged civil war victims, traveled the Sahara, was detained by Russian soldiers near the Afghan border and has climbed a volcanic mountain to see the total eclipse of the sun. She has just returned from the Kalahari Desert where she listened to stories of the San (Bushmen) People. You will hear ancient and new tales of love and loss, mystery and fright, tall tales mysterious travel adventures and more.

Clair will be joined by Stand-Up Chameleon, Jackson Gillman. Sparkling with energy, wit and whimsy, Jackson magically transforms himself into a wide array of colorful characters. Through his many talents as songsmith, comic, mime and storyteller, he engages and delights audiences of all ages.
