Jaap Blonk is one of Europe's foremost "sound poets," melding a virtuosic command of the building blocks of language with an aesthetically riveting performance style that can evoke both laughter and tears. At this special University event, Blonk will talk about and give a demonstration of sound poetry. Lunch served. Made possible by the Imagine Fund, as well as Rain Taxi Review of Books, the Walker Art Center, the Institute for Advanced Study, and the Departments of German, Scandinavian and Dutch, Theatre Arts and Dance, and English. (Blonk will also perform at 7 pm on March 29 at the Walker Art Center: tickets are free and can be picked up at at the Walker Bazinet Lobby desk starting at 6 pm.)
