Brace yourselves for a night of Balkan revelry, as NYC's own treasure, the Ivan Milev Band, brings for the first time their uniquely sophisticated sound to the comfy confines of lower Manhattan's top club. Comprised of transplanted Eastern European musical virtuosos, world-renowned veteran accordionist Milev leads his six-piece attack (accordion, violin, guitar, bass, drums and vocals) through a dizzying repertoire of Bulgarian and Balkan folk tunes guaranteed to rouse even the most sedentary of club-goers. Following last year's applauded release of their first studio album, The Flight of Krali Marco, the band roused crowds at venues such as Southpaw, BAM and throughout their residency at the hotspot, Bulgara. Moreover, band members also lent their in-demand talent to other artists including Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings, Antibalas and Sheryl Crow. So don't snooze. Come see how frenetic fretwork and rapid-fire accordion can make the world go round.
