WHUT, in partnership with ITVS and Busboys and Poets, presents a Community Cinema screening event: TAKING THE HEAT.

They faced death threats on the job?from some of the men they worked with. With the story of Captain Brenda Berkman of the Fire Department of New York at its core, TAKING THE HEAT explores the history of women firefighters in America and the price these women paid to serve their communities.

The film will be followed by a discussion featuring special guests Captain Brenda Berkman of the New York City Fire Department and Fire Fighter Tomi Rucker, Chairperson of the Women?s Advisory Committee, Washington, DC Fire Fighters Association.
