This soulful, fun-loving all-female powerhouse klezmer sextet brings eclectic influences into Yiddish music, approaching tradition with exuberance, irreverence and respect. Since their 1998 debut, Isle of Klezbos have played for CNN Worldbeat, PBS? In The Life, New York City?s Knitting Factory (during Jewsapalooza), Brooklyn Museum of Art, the National Yiddish Book Center, Michigan Womyn?s Music Festival, and colleges from Harvard to Vassar to St. Louis? Edison Theatre. The sextet?s members bring an amazing wealth of creative experience, having performed with such diverse artists as Natalie Merchant, the Indigo Girls, Bonnie Raitt, Bruce Springsteen, Metropolitan Klezmer, Illuminati, Tigresa, Hem and the Lesbian Avenger Marching Band, among many, many others.
