'Irena's Vow' is the true life account of 19-year old Irene Gut Opdyke's heroism during World War II. Irena was separated from her Polish Catholic family during Nazi occupied Poland and forced into domestic service for a high ranking Nazi officer. Unbeknownst to the officer, Irena hid twelve Jewish refugees in the basement of his villa for two years. Through twists and turns, constant dangers and obstacles, Irena manages to save the lives of all in her care, including an infant born in the basement, who would find Irena many years later living in America.
