Introduction to Short Story Writing September 20, 2007

In this introductory course for those who delight in the crafting of stories, beginning writers will review the basic elements of fiction, including the importance of scene, voice, plot, point of view and pace as well as the possibilities of genre and form. The instructor will lead discussions on the evolution and the relevance of the short story in the age of short attention spans. Participants will be encouraged to write, revise and complete at least one short story, with the assistance of class critiques.
