Intl Childhood Cancer Day February 15, 2009

Worldwide, 70-90% childhood cancer is curable. Yet in our country, where every year there are 40-50,000 new cases of childhood cancer, 70-80% children still die of the disease due to lack of information and awareness, inadequate treatment facilities and importantly the prohibitively expensive cost of treatment. To celebrate International Childhood Cancer Day, Cankids, a unit of Indian Cancer Society is launching National Childhood Cancer Survivors Network-to be launched by Shri Ambumani Ramadoss (Union Health Minister).
