Jim Crace is the author of eight previous novels. He has won the Whitbread Novel of the Year, the Whitbread First Novel Prize, the U.S. National Book Critics Circle Award for fiction, the E.M. Forster Award, and the UK Guardian's Fiction Prize. He lives in Birmingham, England.

John McFetridge

John McFetridge became fascinated by crime when attending a murder trial, aged 12, with his police office brother. He has written screenplays and radio dramas, and also co-wrote the short story collection Below the Line. Dirty Sweet is his first novel.

Sujit Saraf
India

Sujit Saraf is a novelist and playwright who lives in California, where he works as a research scientist. He is the artistic director of NAATAK, a theatre group near San Francisco.
