Inter-School Biology Quiz Competition 2007
among Advanced Level School Students

Organized by Institute of Biology, Sri Lanka

Nature of the program
1. Students who are studying Biology at GCE (AL) in Government Schools are eligible to apply.
2. Each Team should consist for four students nominated by the school authorities
3. Questions are basically based on the GCE (AL) Biology syllabus and General Knowledge Biological Science questions.

The Competition
1. The competition will be conducted in four steps.

Step i- Preliminary Round
This round is conducted to select 8 Teams among participating schools for quarter final stage. This will be conducted by verbal questions and/or by a written paper. Four members of each Team can face the test as a group. Top eight teams will be selected to quarter finals.
Date -6th September 2007
Venue - University of Sri Jayewardenepura (Science Auditorium)

2. Step ii- Quarter finals
Four teams will be selected for Semi finals. Each competition consists of three rounds.
Date - 13th September 2006
Venue - National Institute of Education (Visual Studio)

3. Step iii –Semi finals and Finals
Two Teams will be selected for final competition. Each competition consists of three rounds. Finals consists of four rounds.
Date - 20th September 2006
Venue - National Institute of Education (Visual Studio)

4. Step iv - Final
This will be conducted at Annual Sessions of the IOB. This consists of four rounds. Winning team and runner-up team will be selected.
