Integrating Life and Art: Tea Ceremony Demonstration January 19, 2008

The SANAA-designed 21st Century Museum in Kanazawa Japan opened in 2004, featuring a James Turrell Skyspace, Blue Planet Sky. During the Henry's presentation of Kazuyo Sejima and Ryue Nishizawa (SANAA,) visitors have a unique opportunity to explore the aesthetic affinities between Turrell's Skyspace works and SANAA's minimalist designs. Both Turrell's work and SANAA's enable the contemplation of how space and light figure into our everyday life. As a special event, the Urasenke Foundation will present a Japanese Tea Ceremony demonstration in the Henry's Turrell Skyspace '(Light Reign'); afterwards, participants can enjoy a tea service in the Henry's Baci Cafe.
