"Oliver!" is based on Charles Dickens moving tale of Oliver Twist, an orphan boy destined for a life working in a miserable poverty stricken workhouse disguised as a humble orphanage, only to end up in the company of a gang of juvenile pick pockets. When Oliver has a chance to live a good life, love and hate battle as the criminal leader Fagin and the brutal robber Bill Sikes have different ideas for the young boy. Oliver, a waif-child is seemingly trapped in a world that gives him only three miserable options, a life in the workhouse, a life of crime or an early grave. Dickens' characters are always larger-than-life, and the musical captures his unforgettable creations. It is likely that Dickens's own early youth as a child laborer contributed to the story's development.

The Director ~Amy Osatinski: “I am drawn to the story of Oliver Twist because it is such a classic, timeless tale. When I was a child I read the story, and then I got to see it on stage when it toured to Denver. I've always had a soft spot for Oliver, The Artful Dodger, and Fagin's gang of pick pockets. … I am sure that our audience will feel the same way after seeing the production. "Oliver!" is also the perfect choice for the holiday season as it reminds us all that somewhere we can all find love that is unconditional.” Amy is a seasoned director for Inspire Creative and she currently runs the Drama program at Heritage High School in Littleton Colorado where she directs and produces five shows a year. Last fall she directed Inspire Creative's production of You're a Good Man Charlie Brown and next summer she will be directing the regional premiere of Spring Awakening with Ignite theatre.
